Was so impressed with the quality and utility of these scoops that I went back and ordered more colors! They have some "heft" to them, so make for a very balanced scoop. Probably the best ice cream scoops I have seen on the market, and I looked at a lot before I went for these! Would highly recommend.

I LOVE this ice cream scoop. It does not matter how hard the ice cream is this scoop cuts right through and brings up a nice bit of ice cream each and every time. There are times when it feels like I am scooping softened butter. I cannot say enough. Great scoop.

As others have noted, this is one solid ice cream scoop. I was a bit hesitant about plunking down twice the dough for a 'premium' scoop over a standard one but, after getting the SUMO, I am convinced it was worth the investment. The heft of the SUMO is clearly evident when I took it out of the box. The sculpted grip has a nice feel to it and the pointed edge on the brushed metal does cut through ice cream easily even without 'pre heating' the scoop in warm water. However, what really sold me was the neck design. My previous scoop snapped at the neck after a few years of use. The SUMO neck, on the other hand, is super thick and I doubt this will be an issue. Finally, the SUMO comes in an classy black box which makes it a great gift for weddings, anniversaries, and other occasions. With proper care I expect this scoop to last the rest of my lifetime and probably my children's as well.
