We're an all-star team with members from the US, UK, Indonesia, China, and the Philippines. We work with a superb manufacturing partner in China who shares our dedication to high-quality. Is the ice cream scoop dishwasher safe?

Absolutely! We specifically designed our SUMO scoop to be completely dishwasher safe. We've put it to the rest and run the scoop under a repeat wash for several weeks and couldn't notice any visible damage at all. We're so confident in the long-lasting quality of our ice cream scoop that we're offering a lifetime guarantee.

What is the product made of?

Our scoop uses a combination of stainless steel, a super strong plastic core, and a silicone-like rubber coating. The weight and strength of the scoop suggest that its solid metal runs through to the very end of the handle. But we wish to be honest and transparent; the metal component actually falls short of the very end. The plastic core wraps around the metal and provides incredible strength and durability, whilst keeping a balanced weight distribution.

You're very welcome to play the entire container in the dishwasher, without first separating. It's unlikely for the vacuum area to become dirty, anyway."

Can this be microwaved to speed up the thawing process?

The ice cream container is made of a BPA-free plastic and could theoretically be microwaved. However, we wouldn't recommend doing this. Instead, it's a good idea to simply take the ice cream container out early to slightly thaw at room temperature. Of course, we'd also recommend using a SUMO ice cream scoop.
