It is super heavy duty. I was surprised how heavy it was. It does a great job, and I can see where if your ice cream is hard frozen, it will definitely stand up the the challenge. If you're going to scoop a lot (like all day), it might be too heavy, but for most folks it is perfect. Definitely won't break like my cheap one I was replacing.

Comfy handle, scoops like a champ, doesn't discolor in the wash like the Oxo equivalent does.

What an ice cream scoop! This thing is heavy and well made. The first scoop my husband hasn't been able to bend. I think I could hammer a nail with it. The only thing I noticed was that water gets in the rubber grip in the dishwasher. Don't know how. I tip it up to let it drain out.
