I bought this to replace a scoop that had a chrome plating that was peeling off. Yuck, who wants that in their ice cream? This one seems to be solid metal - no plating. Has a good slightly pointed tip for pushing into ice creams that are a bit more frozen. I would definitely recommend this and would buy again if we lost ours.

These are the best scoops! Read all the reviews and bought one in each color. They are easy to use; even thought my wrists and hands aren't as strong as they used to be. Dishwasher perfect!
