I was really glad that this is great. It's been a couple months, and every time I use it I am reminded that I'm glad I bought this. It's clear that is is made out of one piece of stainless, and it does a pretty good job of cutting through the hard ice cream (within reason). Also, I can lean on it pretty hard without feeling like there's any chance of it breaking. Plus that blue plastic handle is pretty nice to hold -- cleans up easily, and it's pretty rugged too. I like it a lot better than the anti-freeze filled one I have -- always afraid someone will toss that one in the dishwasher, which would probablu cause it to explode. I don't think this one would be hurt in the dishwasher, but don't want to try.
Bottom line, I would recommend it to a friend, without hesitation.
