Nice heft. Very nice handle that provides a comfy firm grip. I had no problem serving up nice thick curls of hard ice cream. This won't make the picture perfect balls but it takes less effort than using a spoon. You won't get those ball shaped scoops from any type of scoop unless the ice cream is allowed to soften.
