Examined the Sumo ice cream scoop box & noticed that there are 2 clear tamper proof stickers on top of old ones on both ends of the slide out packaging. So I gently peeled back the 1st layer of clear tamper proof sticker on both ends & guess what? The inner stickers on both ends are slit opened! Got the scoop out & it’s dirty! Not just dirty, the neck of the scoop is lopsided! It’s missing metal material on one side right where the metal neck meets the rubber grip which caused it to have a small opening at the rubber that will trap lots of water. Which in turn can cause rusting because who knows what grade “stainless steel” this may be.

This ice cream scoop is the ONE ! This SUMO scoop seems to cut through ice cream like a warm knife thru cold butter, and does so with a cushy comfort grip. What I like most about this scoop is the high quality construction and thoughtful design—feels solid, yet is balanced so effortless to use. You will know this when you actually see it IRL and use it. IMO, best stainless steel ice cream scoop on Amazon.
I was looking for a stainless steel ice cream scoop with a handle that spans the entire length of the handle; not the more common construction of a short post connected to a plastic handle (that will break at the connection point) of my Oxo good grips scoop, which broke at that connection point.
Compared this SUMO to another stainless steel square-tip scoop by Honsen, https://www.amazon.com/Honsen-Solid-Stainless-Thickening-Handle/dp/B07SL1Y241, whose handle was way too short — not long enough to fully grip and get enough leverage to actually scoop frozen ice cream. Also, the square-tip design was clumsy — did not cut through frozen ice cream with ease. The longer handle, cushy comfort grip and chisel tip design of the SUMO is much better at cutting through frozen ice cream.

Very good. Soft handle, make a very good scoop and goes through hard ice cream easily, even for my 10 years old.
