I love these SUMO ice cream containers. I've purchased several of them over the past few years, and they do not disappoint. I use them to store homemade ice cream. The long narrow shape makes scooping out cones a breeze, and they stack and store compactly in your freezer. Handle them a little carefully when removing from the freezer - if you drop one it might break because the cold makes the container temporarily brittle.
I have found nothing else equal to the convenience and compactness of these containers!

I’m very impressed with these ice cream containers. I like that they come in a set of two. It’s hard to tell but there are actually 3 pieces per container. (1) the lid, (2) the solid color inner container — I got the purple color and it’s very pretty, and (3) the outer container— which is a frosted clear color with a purple non-skid ring around the bottom. When combined, the container has a frosted purple look that I really like. The frosted container acts as an insulator to help prevent freezer burn. It also helps from melting as quickly as a regular plastic bowl with lid. This set will hold 1.5 qts. I wish they had an option for a 2 qt since that is the size of my little ice cream machine.

I love to make my own homemade ice cream, so these are just what I was looking for to store it in my freezer. I love how sleek and space saving they are. The lids fit securely and help keep the ice cream fresh for longer. You also get 2 containers, so you will be able to store plenty of ice cream at one time.

I noticed most, if not all, of the reviews on these containers said they were being used to store homemade ice cream and I’m sure they work great for that. I don’t make my own ice cream; but I was looking for a storage solution to my ice cream dilemma. It’s just me and my husband, so it takes us a while to go through a half gallon of ice cream. Unfortunately, that big half gallon tub takes up a lot of freezer real estate. I wanted to be able to split the half gallon into two containers to save space. When we finish one container, it gives us needed room in the freezer. "Why not just buy ice cream in pints or quarts?" you ask? Because it’s too expensive that way. Sorry, when you’re on a fixed income you have to be frugal. So buying ‘in bulk’ saves money and storing it economically saves valuable freezer space. Win, win, for me!
Now as far as the containers go: They’re great. They resist freezer burn (a biggie when the ice cream lasts a long time), slim design fits easily in tight spaces (including the freezer door), and they’re dishwasher safe. I’ve never had a problem with the lid not sealing properly or popping off. I’m very happy with these ice cream containers and would recommend them, even if you don’t make you own ice cream.
