“I bought it to put my ice cream in when i make homemade ice cream. it fits nice in the door of my freezer. I should have bought two though. I didn't realize i'd get so much ice cream out of such a little cream and milk. The only thing is that it is so well insulated that i have to keep the lid off for about an hour until it freezes well enough to cover or it does not get firm. I had to cover it with wrap until it freezes then put on the lid.“

Fresh ice cream!

I have a Ninja Creami which requires a special container to prep the ice cream. I then can move the ice cream to the SUMO container which means I need less of the Creami specific containers. They keep the ice cream fresh and soft. It's easy to scoop of the ice cream it and easy to label the flavor. Perfect!

Perfect Scoops Without The Hoops!

We have vegan, gluten and lactose intolerant menus to plan, and a few years ago I stumbled across the magical one-ingredient banana ice cream, which has evolved into a freezer staple in our household. For years I've relied on enclosing our plastic storage containers inside of Ziploc bags to help prevent freezer burn and slumping. While the method can be effective, I've found those who help themselves to servings forget to properly store it again, turning our beloved banana ice cream into crystalized banana ice cubes. SUMO solved this for us. The right tools can make such a big difference! Easy to use, easy to clean, and these containers keep our ice cream 100% perfectly scoopable with no extra hoops to jump through. The storage volume is more than enough for small batches, and I can easily fit 2 flavors in each bin. Fantastic find!

Great 1.5 qt containers, but bulky

I have the 1 qt Sumo ice cream containers that are more traditional - a more cylindrical tall container with the flexible silicone cap. I wanted something a little bigger, and these held a little more. This container is pretty big and bulky since it is made up of the inner container plus an outer frosted surrounding, which I believe helps insulate the ice cream. It fits in the freezer door well. But I won't be able to stack them on a shelf, they're pretty big (not that I could with the traditional ones either). The top is a bit lacking, it's a semi-flat piece that just rests on the top and fits just one way with a small tab to use. It can get a bit messy, and I'm not so sure it will seal. Still, the shape of the container is nice to scoop, though I never had a problem with the more traditional shape either. It works, and it's a good brand so I trust it.

Not good

It doesn’t seal properly. It’s kinda hard to take apart. Kind of a waste of money.
