It just works. Ice cream rolls out easily and little need to rinse scoop due to ice cream build up. It's a great little addition to the kitchen tool chest.

Was looking at the reviews for the OXO scoop when I saw a reviewers picture of rust on the OXO. Bought the Sumo and like it very much. Sumo purple is nice whimsical color that pairs well with the fun of eating ice cream. More importantly, the metal spoon is a heavy, 7.9 ounces, or just under half a pound, and its strength, warmth and weight really do a much better job than any spoon, and better than my solid old round scoop with scpaper/remover.
It comes in an elegantly understated box which would make a pleasing gift.
I paid full retail and was planning to write a positive review despite, rather than because, Sumo sent me a email requesting one.
