I bought this to replace a different brand, wood-handled aluminum scoop that had begun corroding and leaving grey streaks in my ice cream. This ice cream scoop is very well built and the stainless steel should not corrode. It feels very strong and I believe the steel goes deep into the handle. I believe I will use this ice cream scoop for years to come.

Like butter! It almost glided through the ice cream too easily. You won't get the roundest scoops but you will get them out easily!
