Over the years we have tried just about every ice cream scoop we could find trying to get one that scooped well and weathered the dishwasher well too. About 20 scoopers later, we ordered a second SUMO after the original's (purchased at Christmas) stellar performance. It is hefty feeling, and scoops well for both hard and soft ice cream. And, 4 month of steady dishwasher washing later, it still looks new with no pitting or scratches. It comes in happy colors and in a really cool box-- a nice touch. We've finally found the one.

Great product for scooping very hard and any other texture ice cream. Very well made and a welcome addition to my kitchen tools..

This is well made, but does not scoop as easily as the Spring Chef scoop.
