Won't break. Dish washer safe. Won't shed outer layer. And scoops ice cream very well. I am happy!!

This is the best ice cream scoop I have found. The solid stainless steel construction means the finish on the scoop won't begin to bubble and flake because there is no finish; it's just metal all the way through. And something about the edges makes scooping ice cream much easier. I ended up buying 3 of them. The cost may seem a little high, but it's worth it because I won't be needing to replace these scoops in a year or two as I have had to do with many other KitchenAid and Cuisinart scoops.
