Taking ice cream as seriously as Sumo does results in a scoop that is beautiful, effective, and very importantly to me, NOT MADE OF ALUMINUM. From the stainless scoop to fused on handle grip, the SUMO feels made to last and has a weight unlike most ice cream scoops. After ditching our old aluminum scoop for a fancy, shiny scoop with the little curved piece that is supposed to sweep under the ice cream in the scoop to release it...well, forget that! Not only did the ice cream have to be soft, the little sweep piece fell off every time the scoop was washed. That drove me to search out a scoop that worked on ice cream even right out of the freezer AND not made of aluminum, AND built solidly. In the SUMO I found it all. So far, the entire household is impressed and I can't imagine that changing since it is made well, works well, and looks great. Well done!

Replaced a couple of "not" stainless steel scoops which worked well, but which started to bubble - and this has been a great replacement for cutting through hard ice-cream.
