Sturdy and dishwasher safe. I was nervous that these were stainless plated since many other utensils flake but this has held up well. The fun color is a bonus.

Great scoop! Much better than the cheaply-built one we bought at Target for only a couple of dollars less. I have very small hands yet the grip was very comfortable and the weight of it allowed the scoop to pass through the frozen ice cream very easily.
