This is one heavy-duty ice cream scooper. The spade/spoon works great on stubborn ice cream but caution, the tip will cut through ice cream containers if too much pressure is applied. Super solid construction and great hand ergonomics. Priced well too. Ill check back and see how it holds up over the years.

Man, that is one beautiful scoop! It came well packed and when I open the package, I saw a well made box, light brown or taupe in color come sliding out into my hand. Box was a little heavy but solid! When I opened the box, there sat my scoop in all it's glory. I picked it up and first thing I observed was how heavy it was. Man, you can knock somebody out with that thing. Then you notice how large the handle is and how comfortable it is in your hand! Really hand filling! Did I mention that you can knock the hell out of someone with it? The scoop itself is a little shallow, but it will cut and scoop ice cream. I don't care for hard ice cream so I usually put it in the microwave for a few seconds before scooping. It does a terrific job of rolling the ice cream in a ball or you can cut shallow scoops if you wish. It is not plated or dipped and will not dimple or rust. I will buy again if I lose it or wear it out in the next fifty years.
