The SUMO does easily cut into hard ice cream, a big plus. It would be helpful if the design changed to allow “a ball-scoop” so the ice cream could be put in a cone.

Just received this today and already put it to use. This is a solid single piece utensil. The handle is ergonomic and it scoops rock hard ice cream with ease. I broke my last $2 scoop I bought at the grocery store and have bent many spoons trying to get my ice cream fix, but don’t anticipate any issues with this product. It may become an heirloom and last generations! Highly recommend this

I have a drawer full of ice cream scoops that others in my household have purchased over the years that never get used. I had a 1/2 gallon container of haagen daz ice cream that was rock solid out the freezer and every scoop required the type of manual strength that could fling the ice cream across the kitchen. All the ice cream scoops in the drawer failed. So I came online to find a better scoop and found this one from SUMO and purchased it based on the reviews. After receiving it in the mail it is the heaviest ice cream scoop that I own and it is just the right size and shape to cut through that hard haagen daz ice cream with minimal effort. I will not store this ice cream scoop in the kitchen for fear it will disappear or get "lost". No this ice cream scoop I will store in it's original container in my room and will only take it out when I need a good ice cream scoop.
