I used my rooommate’s SUMO scooper as a hammer and it worked! The metal side was unscathed. Unfortunately, can’t say the same for the handle. So I bought her a new one and gave the hammer-scooper to my girlfriend. The scooper still works - just a lil’ beat up!

This is the beast of all ice cream scoops. Very heavy duty and works great.

I have struggled all summer with hard ice cream and scoops that wouldn't scoop. First of all, it will cut through rock-hard peaches and cream, no heating the scoop or putting it in water. Second, it REALLY is dishwasher safe. One of the best buys I have received from Amazon!

This has nice weight and is well made. The shape of the spoon makes it difficult to roll the ice cream into a ball unless you roll it sideways.
