I purchased this item for use with the Sumo container for homemade ice cream. My old scoop was too wide for the container and was scraping the sides to the point of leaving scrapes and deep scratches. I haven't made a batch of ice cream yet, but this scoop has a pointed end and it's shaped to fit the long narrow container. I'm sure it would be excellent for any ice cream or container but it's designed for icier homemade ice cream. It doesn't hurt that it's a pretty color, either.

I believe this is my favorite ice cream scoop I’ve ever owned. I’v told everybody I know how much I like it.

I really like it, putting it under hot water for a few minutes makes it easier to scoop for my old hands
