This little scoop is exactly as advertised, sturdy stainless steel and dishwasher safe. My old one got strange in the dishwasher and turned the ice cream grey...ick. I recommend this one.

I was so disappointed with my previous ice cream scoop. While it scooped well, it did not live up to the claim of "solid stainless steel". Within a month or so it began to blister. I thought that was strange, but kept on using it. I've had it for a couple of years and recently noticed that the blisters had begun peeling and revealing what appeared to be pot metal beneath. So my search for a replacement began. This scoop got great reviews, so I asked my husband if he might like a new scoop (he does all of the scooping). He had his doubts because of the shape. He thought it appeared to be much smaller than our old scoop, but agreed to give it a try. It arrived yesterday and we compared it to his old favorite. It is less than a half inch shorter than the old one and the spoon section is about the same as well. And guess what? He really likes the scoop. He said it was almost like cutting with a scoop that had been heated. We are both happy.

This is, hands down, the best ice cream scoop that I have ever owned or used!

I really can't express how impressive this ice cream scoop is. Definitely a quality made product. You definitely will NOT have this scoop falling apart or breaking even on the hardest of ice cream.
