This is a very simple product - not a computer. But it is very well designed and made. I like it so well that I bought a second (my wife always seems to have one in the dishwasher when I want it...)

I've been through a lot of "dishwasher safe" scoops. They may not hurt the dishwasher but all of them pitted after a few washes. This one actually seems to be okay.

This scoop will work even with hard ice cream. However, it is heavy and might not be appropriate for someone with arthritis in the hands.
