Jeez.. I love this!
The weight in the handle gives you a lot of leverage and it's very comfortable when scooping. This is completely sturdy and really makes scooping ice cream so easy.. The other 5-star reviewers were right: This is just the perfect scoop.

My freezer tends to over freeze alot of dairy products and I always struggle to scoop ice cream, and end up having to be near the hot water tap - placing a spoon back and forth from the ice cream to the hot tap water in order to get a scoop out without breaking my arm lol The Sumo ice cream scoop allowed me astonishing with ease to scoop out ice cream without any arm breaking strength.
I liked the fact that the scoop handle is thick and durable and nothing on this scoop appears to be a cheap quality (its actually a heavy feeling scooper, impressive). It actually a very impressive scoop that allows you to scoop ice cream without added extra arm strength. I received this item at a discount in exchange for my review.

Kitchen tools for lefties are just so hard to come by. You would think that most things work well as ambidextrous, but sometimes that's just not the case!
I bought this for my friend for international lefties day. She exclaimed how she's never had such a nice kitchen utensil. The grip is nice and firm, but gives a little (important for not tearing up your hands!) and the thumb "rest" is great for leverage. There isn't much to say on the scoop portion, I find it pretty similar to most but balls up nicely, just continue the same dragging motion to make it nice and big.
All in all great design at a great price and one that is lefty friendly!
