I returned this item because the handle collects water when the scoop is washed. The water then drips into the ice cream when it is scooped. There is so much water in the handle, you can hear it sloshing around when the scoop is shaken. I had the same problem with the OXO Good Grips Solid Stainless Steel Ice Cream Scoop.

Scoop is the perfect size and is hefty enough to plow through really solid frozen ice cream with minimum effort. Great purchase.

I bought this as a replacement for a Cutco ice cream scoop, which I found out was not dishwasher safe after it started pitting. The SUMO scoop is well-constructed, good value, and best of all, dishwasher safe.
