We've had various scoopers over the years. Love this for several reasons. 1) Solidly built - no problem handling extra solid ice cream and should last a lifetime. 2) Pure stainless steel - not just a coating that flakes off over time.

After reading some glowing reviews I was nearly expecting this to scoop out the ice cream on its own. It works ok. Not experiencing the "slices right through" the ice cream deal. It feels very comfortable in the hand, easy to use, adorable in the pink color, but still needed to heat up the scoop (hot water soak) to make it work with ice cream fresh from the freezer. I don't hate it, but I don't love it either.
