Don't really need to grippy handle but I can't find one without. Didn't want liquid in the handle so this fits the bill.

I like this scoop as it is a solid piece that feels heavy in your hands. It does well scooping ice cream.

This has a great weight to it, best of all it does not peel/chip/flake like my other scoopers did. You can throw it right in the dishwasher. It cuts through the ice cream like butter.

Honestly I never imagined an ice cream scoop could be so good at its job. This one is nice and sturdy (and hefty!) so I don't have to worry about breaking it. The way the scoop itself is shaped makes it much easier to dig into hard ice cream (I still need to put some effort into it, but much less than with my regular spherical scoop). Absolutely no complaints from me.
