These products are terrific for iced desserts because they have a layer of air between the actual iv=ce cream container, and the outer plastic tank. They are like thermoses for decadence. The three pieces keep the dessert cold while you have it out to scoop you deliciousness, so that when it goes back in the freezer, it will not get that crystal top layer from the atmosphere. Great product, and wonderful customer service!

The Sumo containers are very sturdy. The lids snap on tight. The rubber around the bottoms keep them from sliding around on the counter. A 2 qt. recipe will almost fill two of these 1.5 qt. containers. The ice cream expands as it churns. The design of these is well thought out. I researched these kind of containers before I chose Sumo on Amazon. The other brands had complaints of cracking easily and lids not staying on. I also received excellent customer service from Keith at Sumo. My order arrived with two green and two blue containers. I really wanted the four colors for identifying the different flavors of ice cream. I also wanted the purple Sumo ice cream scoop I purchased to match at least one of the containers. Purple is my favorite color! Keith called me minutes after I left a message at Sumo. He apologized for the mix up. He told me to keep the order I had and he would overnight a new order. Keith followed up with an email. The new order arrived the next day as he had promised! That kind of customer service is rare these days. It is nice to know that Sumo (Keith) will stand behind their products.

Perfect for ice cream. They are stackable and don't take up a lot of space in the freezer.
