“I bought it to put my ice cream in when i make homemade ice cream. it fits nice in the door of my freezer. I should have bought two though. I didn't realize i'd get so much ice cream out of such a little cream and milk. The only thing is that it is so well insulated that i have to keep the lid off for about an hour until it freezes well enough to cover or it does not get firm. I had to cover it with wrap until it freezes then put on the lid.“

Great buy

What can I say? It's durable plastic, the top fits in tightly, it fits a quart of ice cream, and my ice cream froze well in it. It's exactly what I was looking for and I highly recommend them to any home ice cream makers.

Chill the Sumo before filling to cure the loose lid

I bought this for storing ice cream I make in my Cuisinart 1qt ice cream maker. It actually doesn’t hold a quart and as other owners have mentioned the top is problematic until the container has sat in the freezer for a while after which it holds ok. I had the ice cream put it into a room temp Sumo carried the container to my freezer and was appalled when the top popped off! Thankfully I caught it before it dumped ice cream but my hint would be to chill the container before adding the ice cream and that seemed to eliminate the problem. Apart from being small it does a great job of storing ice cream.
