“I bought it to put my ice cream in when i make homemade ice cream. it fits nice in the door of my freezer. I should have bought two though. I didn't realize i'd get so much ice cream out of such a little cream and milk. The only thing is that it is so well insulated that i have to keep the lid off for about an hour until it freezes well enough to cover or it does not get firm. I had to cover it with wrap until it freezes then put on the lid.“

I like the size perfect for ice cream. Seals very well to keep out air. Very durable.

One fatal flaw takes this from 5-Star to Practically Unusable

I love the idea of these containers. The shape, size, ability to label and stack, etc. are all excellent. Love that it’s insulated but can be disassembled for cleaning. This container is awesome, in theory. The one inexcusable flaw is that the lid does not close firmly. I read the other reviews that say the EXACT SAME THING, and disregarded them because I assumed people were somehow doing it wrong. Unfortunately, I can now confirm the flaw reported by other reviewers. And it’s too late for me to return them, because I’ve already discarded the packaging and filled them with homemade ice cream.

For clarity — I’m not saying it just comes off to easily or isn’t “tight enough”...it actually doesn’t seal or click into place in any way. It fits into the space, but just sits there. If the container moves, the lid slips or falls off. There is NO WAY this is remotely air tight as advertised, and therefore, it will not prevent freezer burn as it is supposed to. This is the primary function of an ice cream container. Therefore, despite the nice aesthetic features, it ultimately does not serve the purpose.

Lids do not latch like Tovolo brand

I purchased these because it's becoming increasingly difficult to find the Tovolo brand in stock. Tovolo's have 2-tabs on the inside of the lid that latch it on. You can hear an audible click letting you know it's sealed and reasonably air tight. Sumo's do not have these tabs so they are not nearly as air tight, and they tend to shift and come off easily. Sending back and waiting until Tovolo is back in stock.
