“I bought it to put my ice cream in when i make homemade ice cream. it fits nice in the door of my freezer. I should have bought two though. I didn't realize i'd get so much ice cream out of such a little cream and milk. The only thing is that it is so well insulated that i have to keep the lid off for about an hour until it freezes well enough to cover or it does not get firm. I had to cover it with wrap until it freezes then put on the lid.“

Works better than advertised!!!

This container arrived very promptly. I was a little surprised that it was shipped in just a regular manila envelope without out any cushioning. It did however arrive in great shape. I love these tubs for homemade ice cream. I am new to ice cream making but I knew that the container I used to freeze it in was just as important as the ingredients themselves. I know the Italians use a low profile container, and I figured I couldn't go wrong with that and the double wall insulation. My ice cream does not freeze as hard as a rock nor does it develop the ice crystals I read about in so many ice cream maker reviews. I am overjoyed with my purchase and will be buying more in the future.

Lid didn't survive the dishwasher - overall great design

Does anyone know if replacement lids are available?

I will say that the design of these containers is great. I do think they’re a bit on the pricy side and it would be nice to have a smaller size to accommodate smaller batches of ice cream. But, they are well made and I’ve already purchased 4 of them.

Knock off of the original SUMO

I got a knock off product of an original SUMO ice cream container. I had a container and loved it and thought I would order another one from amazon. The one I received is thinner and shorter and much more lightweight. The lid does not close as snuggly either and it did not keep the ice cream frost free. Totally disappointed.
