Surprisingly weighty, will last a long time without damage from scooping hardened ice cream. Was undecided if I needed a scoop with the lever that helps get ice cream from scoop into the bowl (this does not have that). It is hard to get a well rounded scoop into the bowl without the lever thing. Works better (more presentable) if you let the ice cream soften for a few minutes.

Scoops easily - tip is somewhat pointed and helps cut into the cold ice cream. I can quickly fill a dish as opposed to cheap scoops, or spoons that fold in half from the pressure, or take forever to fill a bowl.
Makes a great gift, with bowls, or a stocking stuffer.

This scooper is very well made, substantial (has the heft needed to do the job)! Bought one as a gift and the recipient loved it so much I went back and bought one for myself.
